Trisha Billard, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her doctoral degree from the Derner Institute for Advanced Psychological Studies. Dr.Billard's therapeutic approach is rooted in honoring each individual's unique life journey and path toward healing and growth. Fostering a nurturing therapeutic alliance, she provides a safe environment that supports exploration, helping clients to delve into the heart of their private struggles and engage their resilience and life force energy to facilitate meaningful change. Her goal is to empower clients to release old patterns and beliefs that perpetuate suffering and guide them toward healthier and more fulfilling lives. Utilizing a holistic approach that is collaborative, integrative, and trauma-informed, Dr. Billard incorporates a diverse range of modalities, including psychodynamic, mindfulness-based somatic, Gestalt, experiential, contemplative, internal family systems, and transpersonal approaches. This comprehensive toolkit supports clients in achieving balance and harmony of mind, body, and spirit.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Billard has worked with a wide range of adults and emerging adults in private practice and college counseling settings. As Director of Counseling and Psychological Wellness services at SUNY College at Old Westbury for 10 years she provided visionary leadership, access to and provision of high quality unlimited mental health services for a highly racially, culturally and socioeconomically diverse campus community of traditional and non-traditional college students.  Dr. Billard specializes in treating anxiety, depression, relationship and attachment issues, grief and loss, psychedelic integration therapy, spirituality, and women’s midlife personal empowerment and transformation.

In addition to her therapeutic work, Dr. Billard teaches somatic mindfulness meditation to individuals and groups. She has received training from the Nalanda Institute in Contemplative-Based Psychotherapy and in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is also trained in Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and consciousness medicine, providing Ketamine-assisted therapy and psychedelic preparation and integration services. These sessions aim to help individuals make sense of their consciousness medicine experiences, translating profound insights into actionable change and greater authenticity of living.

Dr.Billard is an animal lover who strongly believes in the human-animal bond as a means for personal growth, deep connection, and healing. As a student of the Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies and a trained Eagala equine-assisted growth and learning practitioner, she offers experiential opportunities with horses that help individuals come into presence and align with their true nature of belonging and joy.
